Discreet design

At 11 cm high, the Starry 3.0 is small and elegant, can be used discreetly and fits easily into a pocket or handbag. The aluminium body of the vaporiser has a square shape, which makes it feel sturdy and balanced when held. Unlike other small vaporisers, it feels very well made.

The Starry 3.0 has a ceramic mouthpiece made of zirconium that can be conveniently tilted by turning it. The mouthpiece is magnetic, which seems like a handy solution. The magnet is quite strong, so you don’t have to worry about it opening in your pocket.

 

Heating

The Starry 3.0 is equipped with a ceramic herb chamber, the upper part of which is oval in shape with slanted sides, making it easy to place dry herbs in the chamber. The vaporizer uses conduction heating technology, which works perfectly here.

With the Starry 3.0 vaporizer, I noticed the same problem that most small devices have. Because the heat generated has nowhere to dissipate, the mouthpiece also heats up quite noticeably. The heating time is about 30 seconds, which is a decent number.

Vibration feedback is one of the upgrades in the third version and is quite rare in vaporizers in this price range. It indicates when the device has reached the desired temperature.

Optional accessories

Several accessories are available for the XMax Starry 3.0 vaporizer, which expand its capabilities and enhance the overall vaping experience.

• XMAX Starry / XVAPE Fog – Glass bubbler: humidifies and cools the vapour, which significantly increases comfort when inhaling. The bubbler comes with a rubber tube that can be easily connected to the Starry mouthpiece.
• Concentrate cup: compared to the standard concentrate pad, the cup is a cleaner way to use concentrates.

Precise temperature control

The Starry 3.0 has precise temperature control and a clear digital display. The temperature range is 100–240 °C and can be easily adjusted using the buttons next to the display. The digital display shows the current temperature, target temperature, timer status and battery level.

Removable battery

The Starry 3.0 vaporiser is powered by a removable battery, which is not a common feature in portable vaporisers, although it is something that vapers (including myself) would like to see. If you are on the go or do not have a charger available, you can simply replace the dead battery with a new one and continue using the device.

The replaceable battery is also useful in case of damage. Unlike built-in batteries, which are common in other devices, the use of a replaceable battery makes the vaporizer more durable and easier to repair in case of battery failure.

A fully charged battery lasts for approximately 6-8 sessions, depending on the temperature setting. Charging takes about ninety minutes, which is average, but if you can’t wait, the vaporiser can be used while charging.

Vapour quality

Considering its price and size, the Starry 3.0 surprisingly produces a solid amount of tasty vapour. However, the vapour quality is not on par with top-of-the-line vaporizers, which are sold at significantly higher prices.

Rating

The Starry 3.0 is a well-made device that offers great value for its price. It is equipped with features that are usually found in more expensive vaporizers. These include an aluminium body, precise temperature control, an LCD display and a replaceable battery.

If you are looking for a high-performance or the best possible vaporising experience, the Starry 3.0 may not meet your expectations. However, if you are looking for a small vaporiser at a reasonable price, it is definitely a good choice, even as a backup or travel device.
