Linx Gaia vaporizer Review

Design

The GAIA vaporizer looks absolutely great, even though its shape is actually just a plain box with a ‘chimney’. Before removing it from the matte bag, it looks like any other average vaporizer. But as soon as you take off the packaging, the first-class design of the device becomes apparent.

The matte metal surface, quartz glass mouthpiece hidden under a metal roller and OLED display are so well coordinated that the overall impression is that of a much higher-end vaporizer.

But GAIA isn’t just about looks. This vaporizer has also been designed down to the smallest detail to make it extremely practical to use. This is demonstrated by small details such as the magnetic tool stored in the body, so you don’t have to carry it around in a separate case. The vaporizer does not heat up even when set to the highest power.

Set and accessories

The package contains:

The GAIA device is compatible with dry herbs, cannabis flowers and concentrates. To vape liquid concentrates, you need to purchase an additional pad that enables their use.

Other optional accessories that enhance the experience include adapters for bubblers and water pipes. you’ll need to purchase

Heating

When you turn on a vaporiser, you can usually put it down and go get a drink. Not here. After turning it on, the numbers indicating the temperature inside the herb chamber change so quickly that you can hardly keep up. GAIA heats up to the desired temperature in about twenty seconds. That’s a first-class number.

Vapour

The quality of the vapour won’t blow you away, but it won’t disappoint either. Its purity is guaranteed by the materials used and the hybrid heating system combining conduction and convection. The quartz glass chamber and mouthpiece ensure that the flavour of the vapour is preserved.

However, I found the mouthpiece to be the only significant flaw. It is too short, so the vapour produced at higher temperatures does not have time to cool down completely. The vaporiser is therefore best used at temperatures below 190 °C. In addition to reducing the temperature of the vapour, you will also achieve a better taste and, last but not least, the battery will last longer.

Portability

The GAIA vaporizer is eight centimetres high and has rounded edges, so it fits easily into any pocket. As usual, I was concerned about the glass mouthpiece, but Linx took care of this problem. As I mentioned, it is hidden by a magnetic cover that protects it from damage during transport and dirt, so carrying it around is no problem.

Battery

GAIA has a 2200 mAh battery and lasts approximately two hours with normal use, which is not bad at all for a portable vaporizer. Charging takes about three to four hours.

Build quality

The GAIA has a brushed aluminium finish that always looks great. I got my hands on the steel version and I have to admit that based on its appearance, I would have guessed it was a much more expensive piece.

The vaporizer’s construction is solid and durable. I believe that if you drop it out of your pocket, it will survive without a scratch.

Cleaning and maintenance

To clean the mouthpiece, it is best to use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and clean both the inside and outside. The aforementioned magnetic tool is useful for cleaning the herb chamber. To remove any remaining dirt, use a brush and you’re done. The whole process is very simple.

Completely simple controls

With portable vaporizers, I have become accustomed to the simplest form of controls, and the GAIA is no exception. A total of three buttons for turning the device on/off and regulating the temperature are more than enough. Everything is complemented by an OLED display that clearly shows all the necessary information.

Evaluation

The Linx GAIA vaporizer is mid-range in terms of price, but looks and performs like a much more expensive device. It has a quartz glass chamber and a glass mouthpiece, which are features you won’t find even on most high-end models. The vapour taste is slightly above average, which is to be expected from a vaporizer with this equipment.

Verdict

If you are looking for a quality vaporizer that won’t break the bank, the GAIA is a great choice.
