Background

Puffco Plus is one of the smartest pen vaporizers. It features a mouthpiece with an integrated tool and a ceramic chamber that produces smooth and flavorful vapor.

Earlier this year, Puffco launched a limited edition Plus called the Puffco Vision Plus. It retains the features of the previous Puffco Plus model but has a completely new psychedelic design.

The Vision Plus has a multi-colored body that looks very interesting. The power button is neon green, while the mouthpiece tip is blue. The “arrow,” which is the star feature of the Plus model, is slightly more curved than the original. The grips included in the package are also available in two different colors.

Design and features of the Puffco Plus

The Plus has a gray-black metal finish with a fingerprint-resistant coating that makes it shiny and elegant. It looks good, and when you pick it up, you can tell that despite its slim and thin body, it is durable and will last. It is an easy-to-use vaporizer because it has only one button that is used to turn the device on/off and switch between different temperature settings.

Mouthpiece

The mouthpiece is a unique feature of the Plus because it has a design and innovation that I have been missing in vaporizers:

  • Exterior: The mouthpiece tapers towards the tip, so it doesn’t have the classic hourglass shape you see on many other vaporizer mouthpieces. It’s comfortable to inhale, even though it has a slightly different shape than usual.
  • Interior: It has an additional component built directly into the mouthpiece. It’s called the “Arrow” and is very useful because you don’t have to worry about extra accessories. Given how easy it is to lose this tool, its clever design means it’s integrated into the vaporizer pen. The tool works better with denser extracts because it sticks better than it scoops, which is something to keep in mind when using it.

The mouthpiece also serves as a carb cap and splash guard, which means it allows for even vaporization of concentrates, creating a stronger and more flavorful vapor while protecting you from “spitting” when inhaling.

However, the tip, which serves to extend the “arrow,” may initially make inhaling from the device feel a little strange. You’ll get used to it fairly quickly, but remember to wash your hands before use, as they will be touching parts that you will be putting in your mouth.

Coil

In addition, it is equipped with a ceramic coil that produces strong and clean vapor. Ceramic is a neutral material that has no effect on the taste of the wax, so it remains pure.

Compared to other types, it heats up slowly, but the wax heats more evenly. However, ceramic coils can be fragile and may crack or break if dropped. Therefore, be especially careful when cleaning the device.

How to use

Plus is a simple device with intuitive controls, similar to most pen-style vaporizers.

It also features a Sesh mode, in which the device heats continuously for twelve seconds. This mode can be activated by quickly pressing the power button twice. This is a great feature, especially if you prefer longer sessions, as you don’t have to hold down the power button during them. Whether it’s your first or tenth vaporizer pen, you’ll have no trouble using the Plus.

To use, you will need:

  1. Remove the mouthpiece from the battery and press the piston to eject the arrow
  2. Press the arrow into the wax and scoop up a small amount about the size of a pea
  3. Place the wax in the coil chamber and reconnect the mouthpiece to the battery
  4. Turn on the device by pressing the power button five times.
  5. Press the power button four times to switch between the different temperature settings.
  6. When heating is complete, hold down the power button and inhale from the mouthpiece.

Temperature settings

Plus has three temperature settings, which are color-coded as follows:

  • Green = lowest setting
  • Blue = medium setting
  • White = highest setting

Cleaning and maintenance

It is also easy to clean. Simply use one of the included cleaning swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol and wipe away any residue from the kettle. Stubborn residue can be removed by repeatedly switching the device to the highest temperature setting. This will melt any residue.

Since the attachment is integrated into the mouthpiece, it also needs to be cleaned, but this is even easier than cleaning the kettle. Just wipe it with a damp cloth and you’re done.

Performance and steam quality

The heating time is relatively long compared to some vaporizers because the device uses a ceramic bowl, but the flavor produced by the Plus is phenomenal. And because it doesn’t heat up quickly, there is less wax burning and overheating of the body is prevented. The draw resistance is good, so you can get smooth and tasty vapor at any temperature setting, but my favorite is medium.

Some people may not like that the Plus does not have a classic coil like most vaporizers, but the taste is so good that I don’t think it will bother most users. The only issue someone might have with a ceramic coil instead of a regular coil is that it does not produce thick clouds of vapor, which some people prefer.

Battery performance

The Plus uses a battery with a capacity of 520 mAh, which lasts less than an hour, which should be enough for most users for a whole day. It charges in thirty to forty-five minutes, which is much faster than some pens in the same category.

What could be better?

I really wish Puffco had improved the battery life when it launched the Vision Plus, instead of improving the Arrow. Yes, the battery life compensates for the charging time, but it’s not enough to rank it among the best vaporizers.

Cap

Puffco Plus is a small and durable vaporizer pen that produces strong vapor. I achieved good results even when using small amounts of dabs, as the device vaporizes wax effectively.

It has features that you don’t usually find in other pens in a similar price range, such as an integrated dabbing tool and sesh mode, which is suitable for any occasion. However, it cannot produce the large, intense clouds that some vapers like. Instead, it produces a smooth and subtle vapor, which I personally prefer to intense vapor.

  • Suitable for: Anyone who likes discretion and prefers quality vapor to anything else.
  • Not suitable for: Users who like thick clouds of vapor when vaporizing.
