German company Storz & Bickel is responsible for a lot of great dry herb vaporizers, such as the Crafty / Mighty and the brand new Volcano Hybrid.
Plenty, however, is one of their unique items and one of the most unique vaporizers in general. It looks more like something you would expect to find in a hobby market than a traditional vaporizer. The industrial look can be intimidating, but it’s actually a pretty user-friendly device. Whether you’ll want to use it is another question. Keep reading to find out if it’s worth getting.
Set and accessories
- Plenty vaporizer
- Cooling coil
- One long tube section
- One short tube section
- Herb grinder
- Cleaning brush
- Three screens
- Liquid pad
Compatibility: The Plenty is compatible with dry herbs and wax concentrates.
Optional accessories
Plenty has accessories for reducing the chamber, just like the Volcano Hybrid, and as with this tabletop vaporizer, it allows you to use smaller amounts of herbs without compromising performance.
You can purchase the reduction separately or in a package with the filling chamber. With the reduction, you can also use Storz & Bickel dosing capsules. These capsules are very versatile, as they can also be used with the Crafty / Mighty and Volcano Hybrid.
Design & features of the Plenty vaporizer
Design
As I mentioned, the Plenty looks a lot like a nail gun or a drill. On the front, there is a dial that indicates the temperature range, and below it, a light that shows you when it is heating up.
The large orange trigger on the handle is used to start heating, as the Plenty stops heating after ninety seconds. Below the trigger is a wheel that is used to adjust the intensity of the heat. This wheel does not allow you to precisely regulate the temperature; instead, it allows you to set it from one to seven and adjust the intensity of the heat. With the trigger, temperature dial and control wheel, the Plenty has a nice old-school analogue look.
The cooling coil, which is a coiled metal tube, is another unique feature of the device, and although it may look strange, it is quite useful. This is because its length helps to cool the vapour. You can slightly adjust this length using the tube parts that serve as spacers between the coil and the mouthpiece.
As intimidating as the Plenty may seem, it is actually very easy to use, as it consists of only two parts: the main power unit and the mouthpiece.
Technically speaking, there is a herb chamber – or filling chamber, as Storz & Bickel call it – but this is attached to the mouthpiece. Each piece attaches to the other with a quick twist, so assembly is very quick. You can also unscrew the cooling coil and attach it to another filling chamber if necessary.
Overall, the Plenty crosses the line between a tabletop vaporiser and a large portable device in terms of design and vapour quality, but more on that later.
Features
Everything about this vaporizer is unique, from the way it is used to the cooling coil.
However, what stands out about the Plenty is how it combines a tabletop vaporizer in the style of a device with a tube with the functions of a handheld vaporizer. This is a combination that is unique to the Plenty.
How to use it
- First, separate the filling chamber from the filling chamber lid, which is connected to the cooling coil.
- Fill the chamber with herbs, then reconnect the lid and coil and attach these pieces to the Plenty body.
- Press the power button to turn on the device.
- Use the control wheel to adjust the temperature setting.
- Once heating is complete, inhale from the mouthpiece.
- When the device automatically switches off, press the trigger again to restart heating.
If you want to use a smaller filling and don’t have a reduction chamber, you can seal the herb using the included drip pad. This will prevent the herb from moving when you hold the Plenty at an angle.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning the Plenty vaporiser can be time-consuming – though not difficult – due to all the different parts.
For the filling chamber, wait until it has cooled down a bit after use and wipe away any residue with the included cleaning brush. The cooling coil must be completely immersed in isopropyl alcohol overnight and then rinsed with warm water. The mouthpiece can only be cleaned with soap and water.
Performance and vapour quality
Performance
Plenty takes two to five minutes to heat up based on the temperature setting, which is more than we expected.
Heat dissipation is excellent thanks to the cooling coil, so the vapour stays cool even when the coil at the bottom heats up. The draw resistance is very low, so inhaling the vapour is no more difficult than normal breathing.
Vapour quality
Plenty uses a hybrid system of convection/conduction, but it is mostly convection. The result is a very efficient system that produces excellent vapour and really decent clouds.
However, there are certain elements that you will have to deal with if you plan to use Plenty. Firstly, you don’t have precise temperature control despite the temperature dial on the front of the device. Instead, when you use the control knob, you select from a temperature range. This makes it easier to use for newbies, but experienced users may not like the vagueness of this setting.
Once Plenty reaches the selected temperature, it starts to cool down and you have to press the trigger again to activate it. The auto-off feature is great for forgetful users, but it can be annoying when you have to press the trigger every time you take a puff.
The Plenty also feels a little strange to use due to its unusual shape; it’s not uncomfortable or difficult, but it does take some getting used to. The excellent vapour quality is worth it, as it can be very strong without the harshness generally associated with high-temperature vaporisation.

Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages
+ Powerful as a tabletop vaporizer
+ Comfortable to hold
+ High-quality vapour
+ Large filling chamber
+ Cooling coil
+ Temperature range
Disadvantages
– Higher price
– More time-consuming cleaning
– Longer heating time
– The heating button must be pressed with each draw
Bottom line
Plenty stands out from the crowd – whether it’s its industrial look or the combination of desktop performance and handheld operation. Although it may seem complicated or even intimidating at first glance, in practice it’s surprisingly easy to use and delivers very high-quality vapour. Its cooling coil is particularly exceptional, ensuring smooth and pleasant draws even at higher temperatures.
The main disadvantages include a longer heating time, the need to restart the heating repeatedly and more demanding cleaning. However, this is compensated for by excellent performance, great steam quality and a robust construction that inspires confidence in the long service life of the device.
