Ease of use

I don’t like reading manuals for vaporizers. I find it a waste of time because most devices are operated in a very similar way. Remove the mouthpiece, fill the herb chamber, press the power button five times, set the temperature and wait. With the Slick, everything is done with a single button. The device is also equipped with a vibration response that sounds when it is turned on and when the desired temperature is reached.

 

Temperature settings

As I mentioned, the Slick is equipped with only one button, which turns it on and off and also sets the temperature. With this vaporizer, users can choose from three preset values: 196 °C, 205 °C and 215 °C. Although the device does not have a display showing the temperature in the heating chamber, this is replaced by a coloured light: blue for the lowest temperature, green for the middle temperature and red for the highest temperature.

Experienced vaporiser users may prefer more detailed settings in individual steps, but for beginners, the system of preset values is very useful.

Heating system

Flowermate Slick uses a hybrid heating system with convection and conduction. The black ceramic chamber is of very high quality. It can hold about half a gram of dry herbs.

The device also comes with a steel herb capsule that can be inserted into the chamber to physically reduce its size. The second capsule is designed for use with oils or waxes.

It takes approximately 35 seconds to heat up to the set temperature, which is relatively fast.

Vapour quality

The vapour quality of the Slick is slightly above average, at least in terms of taste. It is also pleasantly smooth. This is helped not only by the glass mouthpiece, but also by the high-quality ceramic herb chamber. Unfortunately, the amount of vapour is rather below average, as is its density. However, given the really low price of the vaporiser, this is not a major issue.

Battery

The Flowermate Slick vaporizer is equipped with a commonly used lithium-ion battery 18650, 2500 mAh. This guarantees about an hour of continuous use on a single charge. What I like most, however, is that the battery is easy and quick to replace. This means that users can purchase a spare and continue using the vaporizer even when the other battery runs out.

Workmanship

Flowermate Slick has a carbon fibre finish that looks really stylish. The device is also built to last. The mouthpiece cover fits perfectly into the overall design and is magnetic, so it can be easily attached to the bottom of the vaporiser during use, ensuring you won’t lose it or leave it behind.

The aforementioned coloured indicator light around the button also contributes to the overall aesthetics. In other words: the Slick looks like a high-end device!

Portability and discretion

The Flowermate Slick is not exactly ideal in terms of portability and discretion. It is relatively tall (16 centimetres). It is not particularly heavy and is not the size of a desktop vaporiser, but if discretion and inconspicuousness are important to you, there are significantly smaller devices on the market today.

Cleaning

Keeping the Flowermate Slick vaporizer clean is very easy. The brush included in the package allows you to remove all residual material from previous use. The mouthpiece only needs to be cleaned occasionally with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Rating

For newcomers to the world of vaporising, the Flowermate Slick is a good choice. It is affordable, the one-button operation is very simple, the vaporiser offers relatively high-quality vapour and is very durable. Another plus is the capsule for concentrates and waxes.
