Volcano Hybrid vaporizer review
Device description
As the name suggests, this device combines the best of two different worlds. One is a space filled with freely floating balloons inflated with steam from herbs, and in the other, these vapours are inhaled directly from the vaporiser using a tube that connects to the aforementioned balloons.
The use of a tube has similar advantages to balloons – first and foremost, its length allows sufficient cooling of the vapour before inhalation.
A nice bonus is that owners of the previous model can use their old balloons with the new vaporizer.
Volcano Hybrid also boasts an improved touchscreen display, which makes adjusting temperatures completely simple.
If you want more detailed settings, Storz & Bickel has come up with another innovation, which is the option (not a requirement) of control via Bluetooth. All you need to do is download the S&B app to your smartphone and pair the two devices.
The whole operation should take a few minutes at most. With a minor hiccup during the update, probably caused by a storm in the digital universe, it took me almost half an hour. But I got there in the end, and everything has been running smoothly ever since.
Improvements
In addition to the basic settings, you can use your mobile phone to determine, for example, the heating of herbs or automatic air pumping at selected time intervals. Another major improvement over the previous model is the double helix heat exchanger, which allows herbs to be heated very quickly – in less than 40 seconds.
I already mentioned the high-quality workmanship and first-class materials in my review of the previous model, and this still applies, of course. The design is even more sophisticated and elegant thanks to the touchscreen display.
Vapour inhalation
Fortunately, one thing that has not changed is the first-class quality and taste of the vapour produced, which is simply unbeatable.
The most significant change is the option to inhale vapour directly through the tube. Not everyone will use it, and the taste of silicone during the first few puffs may discourage you from using it again, but after a short time, you will realise what possibilities it opens up in your vaporising universe. Don’t be afraid to try new things.
Verdict
The Volcano Hybrid is the best desktop vaporizer on the market. Compared to its predecessors, it has improved performance, user interface and overall functionality. If you don’t already own a tabletop vaporizer, have a sufficient budget and want the absolute best of the best, get the Volcano Hybrid!
